1. Turn on your Mac .

2. Check to see if a red light appears in the audio port .

If a red LED illuminates at the level of the audio output port, then that means that your output is placed in the optical mode.

You can try to unlock it using a toothpick or a cotton swab (object end) by gently pressing it to the bottom of your jack.

3. Check the devices of your Mac .
