Since iOS 7, it is possible to access a video through the control center of your iPhone or iPad. Longer need to stay stuck on the Youtube app to listen to music, podcasts, and other videos.
Note that this technique does not work with the official application of YouTube. For more information, follow this tutorial !
Put YouTube in the background on iOS.
1 – Launch the internet browser Safari.
2 – you Go on YouTube.com. If a pop-up will appear asking you to open the official app, ignore that.
3 – Locate and play the video that you want to listen to.
4 – Press on the Home button of your iPad or iPhone to return to the home. The sound of your video then pauses.
To turn it back on, bring up your control center by un swipe upfrom the bottom of the screen slide your finger towards the top).
5 – It remains for you to press play and you can continue to listen to your video while using other applications.
If you want to surf on the internet, you will need to use a different browser than the one you use for your YouTube video.
If this technique does not work (due to updates from Apple or other), you will need to download a specific application. Good news, we found a free one that works very well !

YTC player is a free application that lets you listen to YouTube videos while using other applications.
On the home page of the application, it is possible to search for a video by pressing the magnifying glassin the top right corner of the screen. To access the menu, you must click on the three linesin the top left of the screen.
Once you have found the video you want to listen to, you only have to press play then exit the app. Subsequently, you can use the control center to move from one video to another.
