Be it a smartphone or a tablet, when you use a new Android for the first time, you must configure it. Don’t worry, it sounds more complicated than it is.
We have described below each step of the configuration, but note that it may be slightly varied depending on your Android version and your device model.
1 – Insert your SIM card and your battery .
The first step to setting up your smartphone is to insert your SIM card.
The vast majority of Android come with a small tool to open the hatch to the SIM, but if this is not the case you can simply use a paperclip.
If your battery is removable (which is increasingly rare), insert it in your device, then close it.
2 – Turn on your phone or tablet and check that the device is loaded.
To turn on your tablet or smartphone, hold the power button (often placed at the top or to the right of the product). If the device does not turn on, it is probably because it needs to be loaded.
3 – Select the language of the phone and confirm the terms and conditions of use.
Now that your Android is running, you must choose the language. If you need to, you can change it later by going into the settings of the phone.
4 – Connect to Wi-Fi.
To configure your Android, you need to connect to the internet. The list of available Wi‑Fi networks appears, select yours, enter your password and press Next.
5 – Sign in to your Google account.
If you already have a Google account, enter your username and password to connect to it. If you don’t have one, tap Create an account and let it guide you.
Now you can choose which Google services you want to enable on your phone, the data backup to the location of your device.
6 – Create a password or register your fingerprint.
If your Android device has a fingerprint reader, it is possible to configure it so that it only becomes active is to your touch. You can also choose to use a PIN code, and on some models, draw a diagram on the screen instead of password.
7 – Customize your Android .
Your Android is now ready to be used. Depending on the brand of your camera, you can see a tutorial video or a small pop-up will display when you first use it.
If you want to customize a bit more your smartphone/tablet, go to your settings. Here you can change your ring tone, your background screen, the display of notifications ..
8 – Download applications.
A lot of Android have of pre-installed applications, more or less useful. For download new, go to the Google Play Store.
