Thanks to this guide, learn how to secure all the sensitive data of your iPhone, your photos in your emails, not to mention your contacts.
The iOS operating system of Apple is one of the safest, but it is possible to improve the safety of its device by applying the following tips.
You think your iPhone has been infected by a virus ? Then follow this tutorial.
Put iOS up to date .
Our first tip to protect your iPhone is simple : make sure that your operating system is always up to date.
Hackers sometimes find flaws in the coding of Apple that they can potentially exploit to gain access to your personal data.
The updates of iOS allows Apple to correct the flaws of iOS and make the necessary improvements.
To update iOS, go to Settings and tap General → software update.
A message will then indicate if you are already using the most recent version of iOS, otherwise you’ll be prompted to download and install the latest update.
Enable “Locate my iPhone” .
Another step in the war against hackers : enable “find my iPhone”.
If someone steals your iPhone (or if you lose it), you can then connect to this service and delete the contents of your device remotely. Thus you protect your personal data from prying eyes.
To delete your sensitive data, connect to the application Find my iPhone (or the Web site iCloud), select your iPhone, press the “Delete iPhone ” and confirm the operation.
At the next connection to the Internet (if this is not already done), the phone data will be erased automatically.
Create a long password .
There is a hacking tool, named GrayKey, which can crack the password of the iPhone in a few days (if you have a 6 digit code) or even in a few hours (for the 4 digit codes).
In order to better protect your phone, so choose a password of more than six figures and think to incorporate a few of the letters.
To configure a new access code, follow these steps :
Open Settings and tap on Touch ID and code (or in the Face of ID and Passcode if you have an iPhone X).
Enter your current password.
Press Change access code.
Enter your access code.
Press on additional Options.
Among the options, choose alphanumeric Code custom and enter your new code.

Automatic cleaning of the contents of the iPhone .
If you have sensitive data, you should consider enabling automatic removal of the contents of your iphone.
The idea is that if someone steals your iPhone and that it becomes ten times an incorrect password, then the phone automatically erases all of its contents, thus ensuring that the thief does not have access to your data.
Settings → Touch ID and code, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Clear data.
If you select this option, we recommend that you activate also the iCloud backup feature (to be able to restore your data at a later time).
Avoid click on unknown links .
This will never be repeated enough : it should at all cost avoid clicking on links received via email or sms. In effect, they can direct you to dangerous sites.
Note that phishing, also called phishing, and phishingis one of the key causes of online piracy. It is to trap someone by e-mail (or on an internet site) for it reveals personal information (bank details, access codes to online services ..).
Revoke the permissions of the applications .
One precaution you can take against hackers is to revoke the permissions that you have granted to certain of your applications.
When you download the iOS app, you are very often prompted to allow access to your camera, your microphone, your contacts, etc is a lot of private information.
So, if you feel that you have installed an application little reliable on your iPhone, you can either remove it, or go to Settings → Privacy, select the permission you want to revoke and disable the application.
Disable Siri .
Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri, could in some cases be used to gain access to personal data. We recommend that you limit the number of applications with which it is linked.
You can also completely disable Siri, by following our full tutorial here.
Disable the auto fill .
Automatic form fill and password in Safari is extremely useful .. but also dangerous.
If your smartphone falls into bad hands, then it will be very easy for a stranger to access all the internet sites that you visit, or even your banking data.
To disable the auto-complete, simply go to Settings → Safari → autofill, and deselect every option.
To avoid the hacking of his iCloud account .
Are you afraid that the photos from your iPhone could be stolen and shared on the web ? The risk is probably greater if you are a celebrity, but to be on the side of safety you can disable the sharing of photos on iCloud.
To disable the photo stream on your iPhone, go to Settings → iCloud → Photos, and uncheck My photo stream.
