How to install Windows on multiple computers ?.

Although there are some exceptions to techniques (which we’ll explain below), we must specify that Windows can only be installed on a single device.
The license agreement issued by Microsoft is very clear about this. In addition, when you enter the product key during the installation process, Windows locks this copy of the software on the PC in question.

It is quite natural to think that a purchased product can be used as we see fit, but Microsoft does not see it necessarily that way.

However, there are alternatives for those who want to enjoy Windows 10 on more than one PC.

Microsoft’s policy may seem a little harsh, but a Premium product such as Windows requires a lot of work and requires a financial investment is colossal. Some might point the finger at Apple, which for several years, offers free its OS X operating system, but this comparison would not be fair.

Apple is primarily a business device computer using its own software and whose revenues are derived from their sales, while Microsoft (for the most part) is an enterprise software and services.

Also, this argument is less relevant because Microsoft has made Windows 10 available free of charge during its first year of release.

Install Windows on another PC with your CD or DVD installation.

If you have bought the pack Windows in-box in-store (containing CD and DVD to installation), as opposed to the OEM copy which is preinstalled on the new PC, then here are your options to you.

Note that Microsoft allows you to transfer the software from one machine to another, you will notice that we have said to transfer rather than share as the operating system is active on only one computer at a time.

The only exception to this rule is Windows 7 home Edition, with which it is possible to take advantage simultaneously of Windows on three different computers.

To transfer Windows from one PC to another, you must first uninstall it from the 1st computer, and then install it on the second.

Before you can activate it, you will also need to contact Microsoft and explain what you intend to do. It is a simple process and you’ll be up and running in no time.

Here’s how to transfer Windows 7 to another new computer :

In the Start menu, right-click Computer.
Select Properties. See the bottom of the window and click on the option Activate Windows now.
In the menu that opens, you will be asked to activate Windows by phone.
Select this option and choose your country from the drop-down list.
Click Next.
You will receive a phone number that you can call to confirm your details with Microsoft and activate Windows 7 on the new PC.

Please be aware that as of January 14, Windows 7 disappears, the operating system will no longer have updates or security patches. We recommend that you upgrade to Windows 10.

Transfer Windows 10 on a new PC.

With Windows 10, things are different, since it has no product key but a digital license. However, you can still transfer Windows 10 to a new computer provided you have purchased a retail copy or an upgrade of Windows 8.

In fact, it is not permitted to transfer Windows 10 if it is pre-installed on a PC or laptop bought.
Also, new copies of Windows are expensive if you buy them directly from Microsoft.

One of the best ways to enjoy Windows without purchase of license is to simply install it and not activate it. During the installation, you can skip the step requiring the product key.
And, although Windows 10 you harcèlera and impose a few minor restrictions such as the inability to change the wallpaper, you will have basically a functional operating system.

Alternatives to Windows.

If you have an old PC, but you do not have a copy of Windows and do not want to pay a be aware that there are alternatives.

Linux has a wide range of distributions that are impressive-like software top of the range.

Ubuntu is the most important and probably the best for new users. Nevertheless, many have a weakness for Linux Mint, of which the layout should be familiar to those used to Windows.

If you want to revive an old PC, and that you plan to use it primarily for surfing the web, watching videos, for office tasks, then Linux is an option completely free of charge and well worth the detour.

In the same way that Linux, ChromeOS from Google is another great choice for those with simple needs. In addition, convert an old PC into a Chromebook is simple and free.
