How to install macOS on a PC ?.

Before we begin, we would like to clarify that according to the software license Agreement from Apple, the brand prohibited to “install, use or run the Apple Software on a computer that is not Apple-branded”.

This is not because this is not allowed as it is not possible to install macOS on a PC. In fact, there are many tools through which you can create installation media and implement any version of the macOS (even Snow Leopard) on a computer that is not Macintosh.

Follow this detailed tutorial to turn your PC into Hackintosh.

What do you need to install the macOS on a PC ?.

First of all, it is necessary to have access to a Mac (Sierra or a more recent version, to check this feature click on the icon of the Apple in the top left → about this Mac) to download the operating system from the App Store. You must also change its language in English to be able to use the setup program.

Then, make sure your PC is equipped with an Intel processor 64-bit.

You will also need a USB stick of 8gb minimum, it will serve as your installation media macOS. It is very important that it has never had Windows installed on it. However, if you plan to install macOS High Sierra, then you’ll need an external hard drive with a minimum of 50 Gb of free space.

Finally, a third-party software you will need to create a support for the installation of macOS on a PC Intel.

One of the most popular is the free program Unibeast (in English). It is downloadable from the site tonymacx86.com after your registration with the site.

Recent versions of macOS were easily findable from the Mac App Store, but not anymore. To download Mojave, click here.

1 – you Go on tonymacX86.com register and download Unibeast. Launch the app and follow the installation process.

2 – Connect your USB drive to your Mac, open the application Disk Utility (disk Utility), click on the Partition tab (Partition) and select 1 partition.

Its format must be Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and its scheme as GUID Partition Table. If you want to, you can change the name of the partition.

3 – Then, go to tab of Erase and click on Partition. Your USB drive will be completely erased. Note that you must pass through this stage even if it does not contain any data. Then, quit Disk Utility.

4-back on Unibeast, click always on Continue. You will then be asked to select your USB key, and then choose the OS version to install, here Sierra.

5 – Then two modes of resettlement are offered, UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) and Legacy. In most cases, you should choose UEFI. Select Legacy only if your PC has a motherboard older than 3 years, and that it uses BIOS.

6 – once the mode of resettlement is chosen, it is proposed to indicate the graphics card in your PC.

If the latter is equipped with the Intel card recent enough then you can skip this step.

If you do not know the graphics card in your PC then it is better not to select any option.

7 – Click on Continue so that Unibeast installs on your USB key. Then, arm yourself with patience because this process may take up to an hour.

At the end of this step, you can disconnect the USB key. In the meantime, go to your PC and disconnect the external media device (USB stick, hard disk etc..).

If your computer has an integrated graphics card and a discrete graphics card, then remove the battery. And then, if possible, connect your Mac to the PC via its DVI port and not HDMI or VGA.

8 – Now, connect your USB to the PC and configure the BIOS or UEFI of your motherboard Gigabyte (GA-).
To get you into the BIOS, get ready to press F10, Del or Esc key in the ignition of your PC. Then, change your First Boot Device USB‑HDD.

If your motherboard is with UEFI, press Delete, then go to the Advanced tab. Press the F7 key and change the Boot Option #1 USB.

Note that you will need to reedit to restore the default settings.

If you don’t have a Gigabyte motherboard, follow step 5 of this tutorial (in English).

9 – Still in the BIOS, click on boot and selecting the USB option. Your PC will reboot from the usb stick you just created.

Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, select External (for your USB key), then press the Enter key.

10 – When you have to choose your key bootable, and that it does not appear on the screen, go to Utilities (at the top), select Disk Utility, then your USB key. Click on Erase to format it, and then rename the.

Its format must be Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and its Scheme as GUID Partition Table.

11 – The installation of a Mojave should start automatically, it requires roughly 30 minutes. When the carrier completes its installation, restart your PC with the USB connected.

The menu Uniboost displays your key to be bootable, select it, your computer will then start with macOS.

Finally, click on Continue and agree to the Rules. Your PC is now with Hackintosh.
