Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has not ceased to grow and it has become one of the game shots and survival with the most popular, if not the most popular on the market.
Whether you want to play Fortnite on PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch or even on an iOS device/Android, there is a version ready to upload for each of these operating systems.
In this tutorial, we will explain step by step how to install Fortnite on a Mac, and we give you two tricks to play quietly on MacOS.
How to install Fortnite on a Mac ?.
Fortunately, the games Fortnite Epic Games (Fortnite : Save the world and Fortnite Battle Royale) are officially supported on Mac, so it’s fairly easy to install.
However, Fortnite is not available from the Apple App Store, unlike its iOS version, which makes the process a bit more complex. In fact, it will take you to visit the website of Epic Games to proceed with the installation.
However, before you explain how to install Fortnite on a Mac, the following minimum configuration is required :
Environment : macOS Sierra.
Processor : Intel Core i3 2.4 GHz 2.4 GHz.
RAM : 4 Gb.
Graphics card : Intel HD Graphics 4000
When you are ready to install Fornite on your Mac, follow these 4 steps :
Open your browser and visit the website of Epic Games. Click on the option Download in the top right.
Log in or create a new account Epic Games. The account will be the same as the one used on PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS or Android (if you have already played Fortnite from another platform). Then, click on Mac.
Install the program Epic Games Launcher, and then run it.
Follow the instructions that appear on the screen. You will be automatically directed to a window Fortnite, where it only remains for you to click on Launch.
Once the game is installed, you just have to play it !
Improve the refresh rate of Fortnite and the performance of your Mac.
As to admit right away, Fortnite on Mac does not have a good graphical rendering on Windows, consoles and even mobile devices. This is mainly due to the fact that the majority of Macs have a chip built into the motherboard, and it is less powerful than a graphics card.
Only the Mac top of the range, or recently launched, are equipped with GPU-reliant and are able to provide a very good experience Fortnite.
It should also be noted that Epic Games does not focus really on the environmental MacOS. Some players have encountered a few bugs, problems with textures (images plated on a surface), frequency of images, etc
If you are one of them, then try to uninstall and reinstall Fortnite on your Mac.
Here are our two tips to improve the graphical rendering of Fortnite and to avoid any slowdown.
Change the graphics settings.
We recommend that you set all the settings chart on the option Low. To do this, click on the icon of three horizontal linesin the top right, then tap the cogwheel to access the Settings.
In the tab Graphics, select Low for the Textures, Effects and Post-processing, and set the refresh Rate to max on Unlimited.
In this way, your frame rate will be optimized, while not sacrificing only slightly the visual quality. Fortnite is one of the few games that remains decent, even with the graphics reduced.
Stop the execution of other programs.
For you to play without any slowing, we recommend that you close all background applications not in use.
This allows your Mac to devote more power to the execution of Fortnite, rather than being sought out by programs such as Google Chrome.
