Since the launch of the AirPods in December 2016, these wireless headphones top of the range meet a huge success. This is not surprising in view of their sound quality, they fit quite comfortable, the autonomy of their battery and the Siri voice control.
In addition, after the abandonment of the headphone jack, the AirPods have become an indispensable accessory for a good listening experience from an iPhone.
However, despite all these strong points, there is a small shadow at the table. In fact, if the twinning of the AirPods with an iPhone makes it fast and simple way, it is not the same when it comes to a Mac (iMac, MacBook Pro Air).
It is quite possible to connect your AirPods to your MacBook only you can know some complications.
In this article, discover four tips to facilitate the pairing of your AirPods to your MacBook.
Connect AirPods to a Mac.
As with most Apple products, the installation process and the connection between the AirPods, and a MacBook is not complicated. However, it is not as obvious as with an iPhone or an iPad.
The first step before connecting is to make sure if your AirPods have already been configured to the iPhone. If the answer is yes, and that your MacBook is connected to the same Apple id, then there are strong chances that your headphones are ready to be used and paired with your Mac.
To check this, place the AirPods in your ears, and select the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar of your MacBook. If the AirPods will appear in the devices list, then click just above to connect them.
On the other hand, it may be that even the AirPods paired in the past with an iPhone do not appear in the list of Bluetooth devices. So, what to do in this case ?
You need to click on the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar and make sure it is enabled.
In the drop-down menu, select Open Bluetooth preferences.
Then, open the charging case of the AirPods and hold the button located on the back of the housing until a white light (under the housing cover) flashes.
Your AirPods should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your Mac.
Give him a few seconds, and your AirPods will be connecting to (normally) successfully to your computer.
Unable to connect between your AirPods and your MacBook.
If the Bluetooth connection of your AirPods to your MacBook is impossible, then follow our 3 tips.
Verify that your AirPods are well connected to your MacBook.
Apple says that the AirPods can connect to several devices at once, but this doesn’t always work perfectly.
Sometimes, temporarily disable the Bluetooth of your iPhone allows AirPods to connect to your MacBook without any problem. Instead of going into the control Center, go directly to Settings → Bluetooth, and then clear the connection.
Go through the shortcut that allows you not to completely turn off the Bluetooth and keep the various connections to iOS devices (Apple Watch, AirPods..).
Take a look at the battery.
Even though it may seem obvious, make sure to check if your AirPods still have the battery.
Open the case and observe the indicator light. If it does not, then that means that the case no longer has a charge, and probably the AirPods also.
Load them up and try again !
Reset your AirPods.
If you have tried everything else and your AirPods are always undetectable, or that they do not meet, then reset them to factory settings, then reconfigure them.
To do this, go in the settings of your MacBook, click the icon of your AirPods and select Forget the device.
Place them back in their case and close it. Wait a few seconds, re-open and hold the configuration button (at the rear of the case) until the orange light blinks three times.
They should now be reset and again ready to be configured ; you only need to follow the steps displayed on your screen.
