Connect a screen on his laptop has never been so simple. All computers now have at least an outlet that allows you to connect to a screen, with or without an adapter : HDMI, VGA, DVI, or DisplayPort.
The first step is to identify which of these ports is present on your device. Then, if you can, choose a screen that has the same type of plug (as it will be easier to find a cable to connect the two). Otherwise, make sure that you choose your composite cable (DVI-to-VGA adapter, DVI to HDMI..).
Once you have found your monitor and cable, you must configure the display of your screens.
1 – Connect your screen to your laptop. If it does not detect it automatically, check your connections. Windows sometimes has trouble recognizing screens older.
2 – Go to your Start menu and click the wheel to access your Settings. There, go into System and then into Display. If your screen has not been detected during the previous step, you can click on Detect in the “Multiple displays”.
3 – There are several types of configuration for your second screen :
“Duplicate” identically reproduced on your computer screen on your second screen. .
“Extend” allows you to link two monitors to act as one unit. .
“Show only X” does not display your computer on the screen that you choose.
4 – once you have chosen the type of configuration that suits you, you can adjust some details like the resolution of the screen or its brightness.
