The process to connect your MacBook to your TV is easier than you think. For this, two options are available to you, either use an adapter and a cable, either use a TV box like Apple TV or Chromecast.

Check the output of the sound .

To verify that your computer can transfer the sound without any additional lead, click the Apple logo in the top left of your screen and choose about this Mac → Preview → system → Audio.

If you see HDMI Output or HDMI/DisplayPort in the device list, then your Mac is in the capicité to transfer the sound.

To be sure that the sound out of your TV and not your computer when you have connected the two, go to system Preferences → Sound → Output.

Configure video mirroring between your MacBook and your TV.

Once you’ve connected your MacBook to your TV, on your computer go you in system Preferences → Monitors → Layout and check then video Mirroring.

Apple TV and Chromecast.
