Check the output of the sound .

To verify that your computer can transfer the sound without any additional lead, click the Apple logo in the top left of your screen and choose about this Mac → Preview → system → Audio.

If you see HDMI Output or HDMI/DisplayPort in the device list, then your Mac is in the capicité to transfer the sound.
